7.0 In Summary

Sovereignty is the best solution to managing an argumentative species stepping out into the solar system

1.      An ungoverned Mars would, based on human history, become a battle zone for opposing businesses and governments as they try to carve up and claim the new frontier.

2.      A United Nations control over Mars would face unending challenges from the 195 nations of Earth over control of committees managing Mars, writing laws and submitting referendums designed to benefit themselves.

3.      A sovereign Mars would provide a stable environment wherein governments and businesses would benefit equally without the usual difficulties associated with colonialism and imperialism. Having an earth based mars presence in the form of a nation on earth or at the very least consular and business offices based in a neutral country would provide business and governmental relations aiding in resource and colonial development to the benefit of all.
