3.0 Human Knowledge
Human knowledge has been the instrument of our accomplishments and has been developed over untold millennia. In our quest to further explore our solar system and beyond, this knowledge will be pushed to the limits of our ingenuity.
As we approach this new frontier we do so with vigor and trepidation. Although we have the capabilities of developing the technologies and infrastructures to achieve these goals, it is the human condition that may lead us to failure in the extreme.
Modification of the human condition in sync with technological development is a process that is necessary to ensure a smooth transition to being a space fairing species. Our endless wars show us that in spite of our increased knowledge and technological abilities, we are still operating with a condition that is not keeping up with the change in our abilities, its called human nature.
3.1 Human Knowledge
Applied
When we apply knowledge to a goal or task it’s measured in success or failure. The development of a technology such as the splitting of the atom for example was based on knowledge gained while the application of the technology was based on human nature. (A purely moral decision would not have unleashed the inferno on a non combatant public while the intelligence side of us made the final decision to do so.)
Human nature in its current form is an unacceptable risk factor when considering both the time and isolation involved in IPF or colonization. Our use of such weapons and the general way in which we apply our acquired knowledge to everyday life on earth is a potential indicator of the outcome of our interplanetary and colonial aspirations.
