Transport Models

These concept descriptions for colonial transport range from small one person vehicles to heavy duty yard vehicles and survey and exploration vehicles. Each vehicle is designed and equipped to support the next larger vehicle for rescue purposes. The image above is from the concept art of Sam Brown.

Yard vehicles are also intended to act as air replenishment and supply for the ground workers.

The concept models and their usages noted above have various counterparts in Earth based vehicular designs. We all know that a motor bike is a fast and efficient method of transporting one or two passengers and we have also seen many variations of trucks and trailers and cranes used in construction and warehouses and on the docks.

By adapting existing vehicle designs to function on another planet or the moon and adding the rescue component to each vehicle means we are not having to design from scratch. Integrating new technologies such as EV power and lighter weight materials we can allow our imagination to run wild and envision many functional concept designs. The one thing we need to do is throw away the fanciful designs and remain with logical and functional concepts.
